  • Education/Research Library
    The Louis Iacobucci Library at VSA's headquarters offers a variety of books and CD-ROMS on pet care and welfare.
  • Legislative Advocacy
    VSA assists in promoting humane animal control ordinances and laws at local and state levels. Volunteers also support national efforts to improve conditions for companion and farm animals, wild- life, and the environment.
  • Pet Assisted Therapy
    Volunteers bring pets to hospitals and nursing homes to lift patients' spirits and to schools to teach children about pet care.
  • Pet Loss Counseling
    Losing a beloved pet is always difficult. VSA sponsors a pet loss group to help people cope with the death of their special companions.
  • Spay/Neuter Promotion
    VSA encourages spaying and neutering pets to reduce the critical overpopulation of unwanted animals and to provide pets with long-term physical and emotional health.  VSA provides financial assistance for spaying and neutering to low-income pet owners.
  • Veterinary Assistance
    VSA offers emergency financial assistance to qualifying low-income pet owners.
