Cat Sterilization Clinics-Low Cost and Low Income

Volunteer Services for Animals is collaborating with Defenders of Animals to sponsor low cost sterilization cat clinics around the state in order to assist RI residents to comply with the new mandatory spay/neuter law for cats. Our first clinic is on Sept. 20^th in East Providence. Dr Ryan Loiselle of Salmon River Mobile Veterinary Services is performing the surgeries. Cost is $65.00 includes examination, ear mite treatment (if needed), and shot. Contact the clinic at 401-793-0092 to schedule an appointment.

VSA also has a low income clinic in East Providence open to low-income residents throughout RI. Please telephone VSA if you would like to schedule an appointment.

Blessing of the Animals-October 7, 2006

Join us on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 11 AM for our annual Blessing of the Animals Service at the Church of the Redeemer, 655 Hope Street, Providence, RI.

Bring your leashed or crated birds, cats and dogs to be blessed!

There will be a bake sale afterwards, including homemade doggie treats, which will benefit VSA.

Every October, Becky and Dick Alberg organize this wonderful event to protect our pets in conjunction with Saint Francis of Assisi’s birthday observation. Won’t you join us?

Adoptable Animals at PETCO Stores

PETCO Stores allow VSA Chapters to show adoptable animals to the public in the hopes of finding potential forever homes.  Volunteers show foster animals and animals from municipal animal shelters (varies with each Chapter). Consider visiting PETCO in Providence on N. Main Street on Saturdays to see the Providence Chapter, PETCO in Seekonk to see the East Providence Chapter and PETCO in Warwick to see the Warwick and West Chapters.
