How You Can Help

Volunteers will be trained for these VSA activities:

  • providing foster care for cats and dogs
  • walking and grooming dogs in the shelter
  • giving company to cats in the shelter
  • facilitating adoptions of cats and dogs
  • helping with newsletter mailings
  • entering data for VSA's record keeping
  • helping with fundraising and grant writing
  • advocating for humane legislation
  • facilitating humane education for adults and children

Donating to Volunteer Services for Animals

VSA's efforts to help animals throughout Rhode Island are made possible through your generosity. Donations or bequests can be made in honor or memory of a loved person or pet and will be published in our newsletter "Paw Prints" if you wish. We will also acknowledge your gift to the person honored, if you wish.

  • Statewide Feral/Homeless Cat Fund
  • Statewide Spay & Neuter Fund
  • Statewide Emergency Veterinary Assistance Fund
  • VSA East Providence Chapter
